Take It Nice & SLO
Hi Everyone! This post is waaaayyy overdue! But now that the weather is turning chillier, I found myself reminiscing about a trip, not too long ago, to San Luis Obispo…affectionately called SLO :)
We returned back to our favorite little B&B called Petit Soleil. I love the European, cozy feel it emulates, with its cobblestone walkways, overgrown plants, and that little yellow bus. I hope you enjoy the "stroll" through this charming city as much as we did ;)
xo,
Magpie
Oh yes, we sure did start off our road trip with some good old In-N-Out Burger! |
Petit Soleil Bed & Breakfast |
The perfect French soundtrack to go with our French room :) |
Mmmmm! Warm french toast with fresh peaches, and homemade quiche! |
I love my trees! |
Found this old school coffee grinder an a local antique store :) |
Succulents are awesome! Had to take a picture for inspirational purposes ;) |
A little side street in downtown. |
Denim Shirt: J.Crew Factory (here). Cropped Jeans: Gap (here). Belt: old. Bag: Zara (love this one as well). Watch: Jack Threads (here). Sunglasses: CVS believe it or not! For a pricier version, check this one out by Ray Ban. Flip Flops: Gap (old). |
Look at these cute, little guys! They live in this amazing little store below. |
Contessa S. Boutique. This store is magpie heaven! |
Wanted to buy this but it was ridiculously expensive for just a t-shirt :/ |
Some sparkling pear cider to cool off from our morning walk :) |
My mouth still waters when I look at this picture! I enjoyed these party-in-my-mouth, panfried chilaquiles at a lovely place called Luna Red. |
Scout Coffee Co.….I'm sure their coffee is great, but on a super hot day, we opted for milk shakes instead ;) |
Watch: Jack Threads. iPhone case: Athleta. Sunglasses: CVS. |
His and Hers ;) |
This homemade quiche and pancakes was just what we needed to fuel up for our hike! |
I had no idea, at this point, of the long, hot, 2-hour hike ahead, lol! |
These trees reminded me of a scene in Tomb Raider The Cradle of Life for some reason! |
Isn't this view beautiful?! |
Our goal! |
The road... |
Victory at the top of Bishop's Peak! |
We ended our trip with the most delicious clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and seafood topping at Splash Cafe. My tip would be to go to the one located on Monterey Street, right next to Petit Soleil, in order to avoid the long lines at the Pismo Beach location ;) |

Magpie Loves Anthro !
Hi Ladies! Just a quick post on some of my favorite Fall Anthropologie pieces! I was in the SF store not too long ago, and was re-inspired to mix and match different textures, florals and layers that I currently own in my closet :) Sigh…this store makes me wish I had an unlimited budget! I hope this will make you dream as well ;)

Down To Earth
Happy Tuesday ladies!!!!!! Today's post is all about taking the
quintessential maxi dress, and transitioning it from balmy summer
days, to chilly fall afternoons…
Maxi Dress: Victoria's Secret (old but love this maxi by Free People). Open Cardigan: Banana Republic Heritage (old but look at this cardigan by Anthropologie, its gorgeous!) Fedora: H&M (old) but this straw fedora by Forever 21 is super cute. Bangles: my own from travels and thrift stores :). Sunglasses: Ray Bans (here). Body chain: Alessia de Vita on etsy.com. |
Roo decided to photo bomb, so he's my featured accessory of the day! |
Roo (limited edition, not available in stores ;) |
Knit Cardigan: Zara (this one is chunky too!) |
Rings (left to right): midi rings are Forever 21, ring with gem (part of a set of 3, purchased through Lucky Magazine a few years ago. Sorry to say, I cannot remember the designer, but Ferimer on etsy.com creates similar sets ;) |
Faux Fur Cardigan: Romeo & Juliet Couture. Scooped this one up from a dear friend of mine at a clothing swap, but for dramatic effect, check this one out by Zara. Fringe Bag: H&M (old but very similar one here). |
Floppy Wool Fedora: Gap Outlet (try this one on for size). |
Playing coy with the hubby…aka the photographer ;) |
